The large ice pack also took up a good amount of space in the bottom of a 12 x 9-inch cooler but left just enough room for food and drinks. Our tester, who was sent the large 2.5-pound ice pack, found it slightly oversized for a home freezer: The tester would have been able to squeeze a second one in, but it would have been tight if they wanted to add more items to the freezer. The ice packs come in five sizes, ranging from small to XXL, and are designed with leakproof caps and UV-stabilized color containers for long-lasting use. The panels are also dishwasher-safe for easy cleanup at the end of the day. Our tester left a cooler containing the ice pack in a car on an 80-degree day and was pleased that it performed as advertised: A bottle of apple cider and fresh vegetables stayed cold for four hours and remained in great condition for about seven hours. These cold packs take about six to eight hours to reach a freezing point of 28 degrees F and are the ideal ice packs to keep your beverages and food cold at a tailgate or an afternoon picnic. It claims to keep drinks cold 50 percent longer than ice alone, and we found this to be true.

The Arctic Ice Chillin’ Brew Series ice pack ranks as our best overall due to its reliability and design. What We Don't Love: The 10.5-inch XXL size may be too large to fit in small coolers and freezers

What We Love: Great for tailgating or picnics, keeps items cold for as long as advertised, easy to clean
